Get Round It.

I recently mentioned having taken part in a group show at Melboune Uni. This is the poster for that show, titled 'Get Round It'.

Below is an image of my work (right), next to my friend and fellow class mate Cass Martin's work (left). Unfortunately I couldn't get a very good photo due to the sub-standard lighting in the space (which was actually a class room).

The work is titled 'Cold Cycle' and consists of a video of a washing machine going through a cold cycle, a basket of clothes, bottle of stain remover and box of detergent. Dimensions variable.

Assessment.

Here is how the Golden Sea installation was re-setup for end of semester assessment.

And here is a bunch of my work on paper.

Hobart, July 2013.

I recently went on a short trip to Hobart, here is a piece I made about it.

Found poster and plastic cup, dimensions variable.

It was a really good, brief holiday. This work came out of a quite memorable day, which for legal reasons I probably should not disclose any further information on.

Sorry for the break.

I've been pretty busy lately. As soon as the semester ended I started working towards a group exhibition I had work in as part of Melbourne University's MUDfest, went to Hobart, then found out I had another group show coming up for uni!

Those two exhibitions have passed, and I can now briefly pay attention to my blog once more! So here, enjoy an influx of posts.

Golden Sea.

So after months of planning, here it is: Golden Sea Chinese Restaurant!

Close up of one of the tables post-opening (the chopsticks, order stub and menu were all made by me)

And here are some boxes I made for the installation, plus an older one and one placed in the space by my friend during the opening (far left)

As an act of purely technical practice I reproduced a take away food delivery bag, here they are in progress.

 And here finished.

Exhibition.

I recently took part in an exhibition for the second and third year drawing students at VCA titled Border Security: Australia's front line. The theme of the show was 'boundaries'. My work was the public toilet cubicle I posted about earlier.

I wish I had more photos to show, but I was enjoying myself too much to properly document the opening.

It went really well.

Post-Cubicle.

Notes taken of everything written during the installation.

Drawings of some of the cubicle graffiti.

And again.
Every artist needs to be photographed with their work right?
