+ / -

This installation was a result of a sculpture class based around casting techniques (and therefore mould making). It consists of a recreation of my desk in which a number of items have been replaced by two part plaster moulds, concealing the now missing objects. Said objects were intended to remain anonymous, but as a result of an overly curious class the moulds were opened so as to reveal their negative doubles. It became almost a kind of memory game.

The following drawings were made during the couple of weeks between the conception and completion of the project. I guess they're my way of experimenting with the importance (or lack thereof) of different objects and their placement, both in my studio and in general.

Prototypes for Crayola Paint.

Crayola Paint (prototypes). 2012. Cast crayon wax, printed labels, hand made box.

'Fire Hose Reels' colouring book.

Three finished copies of the book, 10 pages, 21cm x 14.8cm (limited run of 15 with 3 artist copies).

Fire Hose Reels is a book of 10 drawings, designed to be coloured in and/or graffitied on. The drawings were based on a collection of over 40 photos of fire hose reel cabinets in various states of decay (the majority of which are covered in graffiti). The books were created as a sort of prelude/lead up to a larger sculptural project which is still in the process of being created.

Trial Installation for Shame About That Fucking Exit.

2012. Exit sign, power point/socket cover, fork, plaster. Dimensions variable.

This is documentation of a short lived trial installation I made for a project revolving around the idea of creating/inserting an emergency exit where one did not previously exist. Hopefully I'll get an opportunity to work on this project further in the coming months.
